Hi everyone,
My name is Darien, and I’m a cat mom to the sweetest little guy named Barry. I’m not someone who typically asks for help like this, but right now I’m facing a situation that is emotionally and financially overwhelming, and I’m turning to this community with hope and gratitude.
Barry started showing signs of illness in early September. We rushed him to an emergency vet, where he was diagnosed with Giardia. After two rounds of medication, his symptoms didn’t improve. The vet team then suspected a food allergy, so he was switched to prescription food but sadly, that didn’t help either.
Over the past month, Barry’s condition has worsened. He’s lost over a pound, has become extremely lethargic, and is barely eating. His once playful personality is fading, and now spends most of his time curled up in our arms, exhausted.
After more tests, we finally got some answers. The vet suspects Barry has Feline Infectious Tracheitis (FIT). To confirm diagnosis, Barry urgently needs a sonogram and tissue sampling, which will cost $900. If the results confirm FIT, his treatment will be an additional $900.
We’ve already spent hundreds of dollars on vet visits, medications, testing, and special food. We’ve done everything we can to get answers but financially, we’re at a breaking point. Barry is only 1 year old, he’s still just a baby with so much life and love ahead of him. We’re doing everything we can to give him a chance to heal and live a full and happy life.
If you are able to donate or share this, it would mean the world to us. Every dollar helps us get closer to helping Barry feel better and get back to being his sweet goofy self.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness.
With love,
Darien, Sam, and Barry
