Help Us Save Backyard Moms & Kittens This Kitten Season

Kitten season is here, and I have been receiving message after message asking for help with multiple stray moms and kittens living in our backyards. Rescues are already overwhelmed and doing everything they can, so I continue to step in where I’m able—but I cannot cover the veterinary costs alone again.

Right now, one mom cat has 6 kittens from this litter, and she also had babies last year. Another mom has 2 kittens that we have already taken in because they were absolutely riddled with worms and suffering from upper respiratory infections.

These kittens have already been seen at Alta Vista Animal Hospital, and the total for their first visit was $500. They will need to return in a couple of weeks for follow-up care. Their mom is also currently pregnant again, which means we need to have her spayed urgently before another litter is born into the same cycle of suffering.

The only real way to get this under control is through trap, spay/neuter, vet care, and rescue efforts. There are already so many cats without homes. If we do nothing, the cycle continues—and more kittens will be born sick, homeless, and struggling to survive.

Many of you know I am very active in the Aylmer community, helping animals by trapping, securing vet care, fostering, and finding loving homes for cats in need.

I want to help this mom and her 6 babies, but I cannot intake them or continue this rescue work without community support. My last rescue cost over $2,000, not including vaccines or spay/neuters.

Babies will be returning to our regular vet next week for vaccines , then booked for surgery ! They all will be socialized and put up for adoption ❤️
