Help Save Our Baby Ellia’s Life
Hello, my name is Karissah, and my husband’s name is Rob. We recently welcomed our baby girl, Ellia, into the world but her arrival was nothing like we imagined.
Nothing prepares you for the moment your world turns upside down. Bringing a baby into the world is supposed to be one of life’s most joyful moments, but for us, it’s been a journey filled with both heartbreak and hope.
Baby Ellia was born on September 29, 2025, via C-section, our long-awaited first child after three years of prayers. At first, everything seemed normal she was healthy, active, and feeding well. But just days after coming home, she started vomiting after every feeding. What we thought was just normal spit-up turned into something much more serious.
She was admitted to the hospital twice and has been in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) since October 15, fighting for her life. Doctors don’t have a definite diagnosis yet, but they are treating her for hyperammonemia, suspected genetic disorders, and sepsis. Her ammonia levels are dangerously high, causing swelling in her brain. She had to be intubated to assist with her breathing, and her level of consciousness is still poor. She’s undergone multiple blood transfusions and is currently undergoing peritoneal dialysis to help decrease the ammonia in her body. Ellia remains in a critical state, still fighting every day in the NICU.
Our hearts break watching our baby fight so hard, but her strength gives us hope every single day. She has a team of incredible doctors caring for her, and we’re doing everything we can — but the medical costs are overwhelming, and her hospital bills are piling up.
We’re creating this GoFundMe to ask for help from anyone willing to lend a hand. The funds raised will go toward covering the heavy costs of Baby Ellia’s NICU stay, ongoing treatments, and medical needs as we focus on her healing and growth.
Every donation, share, and prayer truly makes a difference. Your kindness lightens our load and allows us to focus on what truly matters — helping our little miracle continue to grow, heal, and thrive with the care and stability she deserves.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story, for caring, and for standing with us as we fight alongside our baby girl. Your love and support mean more than words can express.
With gratitude,
