Hello friends,

I’m currently in Crete, Greece, volunteering with The Souda Shelter Project, and I need your help to make a real difference for a vulnerable colony of cats living at an industrial chlorine plant.

These cats are struggling to survive—many are living inside discarded chemical containers, facing health issues while continuing to have litter after litter of kittens. Without intervention, their numbers grow every month, and so do the risks of illness, injury, and preventable deaths.

Our Mission

We are working to Trap, Neuter/Spay, and Release (TNR) these cats, while also providing them with basic vaccinations. Whenever possible, we’ll foster them during recovery and help them find loving homes. Right now, though, our most urgent goal is to stop the cycle of suffering by preventing more litters.

Cost of care:

Neutering a male cat: ~$48

Spaying a female cat: ~$72

There are currently 25 cats, with new kittens being born at a rate of about 3 per month. To cover all 25 cats plus GoFundMe fees, we need to raise $1,500.

Why This Matters

We know stray cats exist everywhere, but this particular colony is at high risk due to its environment. By helping here, you’ll be directly preventing suffering, saving lives, and giving these cats a chance at a healthier future.

Our team will remain on the ground to:

Foster cats as they heal from surgery

Work toward adoptions whenever possible

Save up for more complex surgeries for cats with chemical-related injuries or infections
