Os presentamos a Alvaredos, así era nuestra aldea y su entorno:

El 17 de agosto sufrió un incendio devastador que dejó todo su alrededor y parte de la aldea calcinada. Se han quemado gallineros con animales dentro, la mayoría de nuestras huertas y viñedos, sustento y fruto de muchos años de trabajo, y, lo más urgente, la tubería que nos traía el agua quedó destruida. Actualmente no tenemos acceso a agua en el pueblo.

En Alvaredos viven 5 personas durante todo el año, y en época vacacional llegamos a ser unas 20. Aunque somos pocos, este lugar es el hogar y unión de nuestras familias desde hace generaciones y que intentamos mantener. Cada huerta, cada árbol, cada gallinero y cada viñedo representaba no solo alimento, sino también la forma de vida de nuestra aldea.

Queremos recuperar lo perdido y devolverle la vida a Alvaredos. Nuestros objetivos principales son:

Restaurar el acceso al agua, reparando la tubería que se ha quemado.
Recuperar las huertas, gallineros y viñedos que ardieron, devolviendo a los vecinos sus medios de subsistencia.
Reparar las casas afectadas y trabajar en la restauración del entorno que nos rodea, hoy reducido a cenizas.

Sabemos que es un reto enorme, pero también creemos que con la ayuda de muchas personas podremos volver a ver verde nuestro pueblo, consumir de la producción de nuestros huertos y animales y brindar con el vino de nuestras viñas.

Cada aportación, por pequeña que sea, nos acerca un poco más a conseguirlo. Tu ayuda no solo restaura estructuras o tierras: mantiene viva una aldea gallega, su gente y sus raíces.

Just a week ago, our village, Alvaredos (Lugo, Galicia), suffered a devastating wildfire that left the surrounding land and part of the village completely burned. Chicken coops with animals inside were destroyed, along with most of our vegetable gardens and vineyards—the livelihood and result of many years of work. Most urgently, the water pipeline that supplied our village was destroyed. Today, we have no access to water.

Alvaredos is home to 5 people year-round, and during the holiday season we can be up to 20. Although we are few, this village has been the home and bond of our families for generations, and we strive to keep it alive. Every garden, every tree, every chicken coop, and every vineyard represented not only food, but also our way of life.

We want to recover what was lost and bring Alvaredos back to life. Our main goals are:

Restore access to water by repairing the destroyed pipeline.
Recover the gardens, chicken coops, and vineyards that burned, giving back to our neighbors their means of subsistence.
Repair the damaged houses and work on restoring the natural surroundings, today reduced to ashes.

We know this is a huge challenge, but we also believe that with the help of many people we can once again see our village green, live from the production of our gardens and animals, and raise a glass of wine from our vineyards.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to achieving this. Your support does not only restore land or structures: it keeps alive a Galician village, its people, and its roots.
