We never imagined we’d be writing this.
This week, our beloved family cat had to have her leg amputated after being shot by an unknown person. A tiny pellet — smaller than a 5p coin — shattered her leg beyond repair. The vet had no choice but to remove it to save her life.
She’s not just any cat. She’s a companion, a source of comfort, and the heart of our home. She belongs to a 12-year-old grandson, who has grown up surrounded by rescued animals. For the last five years, our family has volunteered in cat rescue — caring for, loving, and rehoming over 500 fosters.
He’s helped bottle-feed kittens, cried over the ones we couldn’t save, and celebrated the ones who found homes. But now, his own cat — his world — has been deliberately harmed. He’s watched her suffer, powerless. His trust in people is shaken.
This fundraiser isn’t about a “disabled pet.”
It’s not even about us, though we are struggling to cover the huge vet bill on a limited income.
It’s about a little boy whose faith in the world has been broken by a senseless act of cruelty.
If you’re able to help, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us — not just to ease the financial burden, but to show him that kindness still exists.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us.
❤️
