Help Us Save a Life: Our Beautiful Kitten Stella
Donation protected

Hi everyone, our names are Jon, Mason, Kyle and Gunnar. The four of us are undergraduate students at UVA and last semester we made the decision to save an animal and adopt from the Charlottesville SPCA.
We ended up falling in love with an 8 week-old kitten and named her Stella. We have loved our time with her and she is now 10 months old and getting so big! She's a sweet and beautiful kitten and the four of us have so much love for her.
But, this week she suddenly became very sick and we had to rush her to the animal hospital. The other morning she was throwing up blood and has had a fever of 105 for almost three days now.
The vet was worried she could've eaten something sharp or had some sort of blockage. To make sure there wasn't internal bleeding that needed to be stopped they had imaging done, and found that she had severe intestinal inflammation. They arent sure if she will make it without surgery and we are all beside ourselves.
Because she's so sick she has had to stay in the hospital for monitoring. They've given her an IV because the poor thing can't even eat and drink due to the pain. The hospital stay and the imaging have already cost us $2000 and while we're doing what we can to pay for it, we could never afford surgery on our own.
When we found Stella, we all made sure we understood the responsibility of adopting a pet, and worked closely with the SPCA to discuss the care she would need to grow up healthy. we made sure we set aside the money to take her to the vet, keep her shots up to date and buy her food and toys. We've done everything we can to take care of her for the past 8 months and all of this was so unexpected.
It would break our hearts to lose her, and if you could donate anything --even loose change lying around the house-- to help her, it could make the difference between her getting through this or not.
If you want to reach out, and discuss her condition, or just get to know us a little, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to get in touch. We arent really the types to ask much of others, but we have no choice, because we cant afford this on our own. Even if you simply read this far, thank you.
PLEASE, whether you can or can't donate, pass this on to friends and family, post on social media, and spread the word. You'll be helping to save a beautiful life.
