Please help us care for 24 rescued cats in Indonesia ❤️
We rescued these 24 cats from the streets because we couldn’t bear to see them suffer. They will never be sent back to life on the streets. We want to give each of them a safe, dignified life filled with care and compassion.
Sadly, many of our cats are seriously unwell. Their health problems include FIP in little Elvis, anemia, suspected blood parasites, worms, flea infestations and other ongoing illnesses. Some are in much worse condition than others, and they urgently need veterinary care.
We also need help with neutering and spaying. Neutering some of the males can help reduce stress and conflict, while spaying and neutering the others will prevent more unwanted kittens from being born into the same difficult circumstances.
We are just two people doing everything we can for these cats. Their food and litter are currently covered where they are staying, but these will become additional costs once the cats are at the veterinary clinic. We simply cannot afford all the examinations, treatments, medications, PCR tests and sterilisation procedures they need. PCR tests are particularly expensive in Indonesia.
We are asking for your help because we cannot do this alone.
The fundraiser is being organised with the help of The Bridge – Helping Hands. We are committed to full transparency: veterinary invoices and payment records will be shared, and payments will go directly to the clinic wherever possible, so donors can see how the funds are used.
Every donation, no matter how small, can help us give these cats a chance at a healthier life. If you cannot donate, please share our fundraiser with others.
We rescued them because we could not turn away from their suffering. Now, we desperately need help to give them the care they deserve.
Please help us. They are counting on us. ❤️
Cost per Cat — Diagnostic Tests
(Calculated using the approximate exchange rate: 1 IDR ≈ 0.00055 SEK)
1. Hematology — complete blood count (CBC)
Cost: IDR 200,000–650,000 (approx. 110–357.50 SEK)
Examines red and white blood cells and platelets to help detect conditions such as inflammation, infection, and anemia.
2. Blood chemistry
Cost: IDR 550,000–950,000 (approx. 302.50–522.50 SEK)
Assesses kidney and liver function, among other metabolic values.
3. Urinalysis
Cost: IDR 100,000–250,000 (approx. 55–137.50 SEK)
Provides additional information about kidney function, the urinary tract, and general health.
4. PCR testing for upper respiratory infections (URI)
Cost: approximately IDR 1,200,000 (approx. 660 SEK)
Tests for four pathogens:
• Feline herpesvirus (FHV-1)
• Feline calicivirus (FCV)
• Mycoplasma
• Chlamydia felis
5. Veterinary consultation and sample handling
Cost: IDR 150,000–300,000 (approx. 82.50–165 SEK)
Includes a veterinary examination, sample collection, and any necessary sample handling or transport.
6. FIP diagnostics — feline coronavirus
Feline coronavirus PCR test: approximately IDR 300,000 (approx. 165 SEK)
A positive coronavirus test does not, by itself, confirm FIP. The result must be assessed alongside symptoms and other examination findings.
7. FeLV test — feline leukemia virus
Rapid test: approximately IDR 200,000–275,000 (approx. 110–151.25 SEK)
A PCR test may be considered if the veterinarian determines that further testing is needed.
8. FPD diagnostics
Cost: IDR 600,000 per cat (approx. 330 SEK)
Additional diagnostic testing at the stated cost.

Preliminary FIP Treatment Budget for 24 Cats – GS-441524
1. Medication and treatment duration
The medication used to treat FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) is called GS-441524. Treatment commonly lasts 84 days (12 weeks), with daily administration and veterinary monitoring.
Because the cats are predominantly Maine Coon or Maine Coon mixes, this preliminary budget uses an average body weight of 4 kg per cat.
The calculations below estimate the cost of injectable GS-441524 for a complete 84-day course. They are planning estimates, not veterinary prescriptions. The actual dose and treatment duration must be determined by a veterinarian according to the individual cat’s condition and response.
2. Estimated medication prices in Indonesia
Two example products and prices:
* GS-441524, 40 mg/ml, 10 ml vial: approximately IDR 999,000 per vial (400 mg total).
* GS-441524, 20 mg/ml, 6 ml vial: approximately IDR 750,000 per vial (120 mg total).
For currency conversion, this estimate uses an illustrative exchange rate of IDR 1,000 = SEK 0.55. Actual prices and exchange rates may vary.
3. Estimated medication costs for one 4 kg cat over 84 days
The following scenarios illustrate how treatment costs change with the daily dose. They are estimates for budgeting purposes only.
Scenario A – 6 mg/kg/day
* Daily dose for a 4 kg cat: 24 mg.
* Total medication required over 84 days: 2,016 mg.
* Using 40 mg/ml, 10 ml vials: approximately 6 vials.
* Cost per vial: IDR 999,000.
* Estimated total per cat: IDR 5,994,000 (approximately SEK 3,297).
Scenario B – 8 mg/kg/day
* Daily dose for a 4 kg cat: 32 mg.
* Total medication required over 84 days: 2,688 mg.
* Using 40 mg/ml, 10 ml vials: approximately 7 vials.
* Cost per vial: IDR 999,000.
* Estimated total per cat: IDR 6,993,000 (approximately SEK 3,846).
Scenario C – 10 mg/kg/day
* Daily dose for a 4 kg cat: 40 mg.
* Total medication required over 84 days: 3,360 mg.
* Using 40 mg/ml, 10 ml vials: approximately 9 vials.
* Cost per vial: IDR 999,000.
* Estimated total per cat: IDR 8,991,000 (approximately SEK 4,945).
These calculations assume that the entire contents of each vial can be used and do not include wastage, additional medication, veterinary fees, or monitoring. The appropriate dose depends on the form of FIP and the veterinarian’s assessment.
4. Potential medication budget for all 24 cats
If all 24 cats were eventually diagnosed with FIP and required a full 84-day course, the estimated medication costs would be:
* Scenario A – 6 mg/kg/day: IDR 143,856,000 (approximately SEK 79,121).
* Scenario B – 8 mg/kg/day: IDR 167,832,000 (approximately SEK 92,308).
* Scenario C – 10 mg/kg/day: IDR 215,784,000 (approximately SEK 118,681).
These figures represent medication costs only. They exclude diagnostic testing, hospitalisation, food, injections and supplies, veterinary consultations, follow-up blood tests, and other supportive treatment.
5. Important considerations
FIP has not been confirmed in all 24 cats. These figures therefore represent a contingency budget for a possible scenario, not a prediction that every cat will need FIP treatment.
What happens if the fundraiser raises more money than the treatment costs?
If donations exceed the actual costs of examinations, treatments, and care for the 24 cats, the surplus will be donated to the veterinary clinic we work with.
The aim is to help the clinic continue their important work caring for animals in need. This may include supporting other pet owners who struggle to afford veterinary care, as well as helping stray cats and other street animals.
This way, any surplus donations can continue to make a difference and help more animals receive the care they need.
We want every donation to benefit animals and donors to feel confident that their contributions are being used responsibly and meaningfully.
