1/14/2026 EDIT: we just got a call from our neighbor and she is only giving us till 2/16 to get them or she will take them to the pound!!! Please and thank you for helping, sharing, and reading our story.
My fiancé and I are facing a heartbreaking situation. He recently moved from Michigan to California so we could start our life together, but we couldn’t afford to bring his two cats and small dog with him. Right now, our pets are staying with a neighbor back in Michigan, but she’s getting overwhelmed and has threatened to take them to the pound. If that happens, we may never see our kids again, and the thought of losing them is unbearable.
Our animals are more than just pets—they’re our family and our support system. Both my fiancé and I struggle with severe depression and anxiety, and our pets are our emotional anchors. Being separated from them has made this transition even harder, and we’re desperate to bring them home where they belong. The cost to fly them out to California is more than we can manage right now.
We’re reaching out for help because we can’t do this alone. Any support you can give will go directly toward reuniting our family and giving us the comfort and stability we need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and for any help you can offer. Your kindness means the world to us.
