Help us save the children & reunite Nour's family

Donation protected
Through another Gofundme fundraiser, we managed to successfully get Nour & her 3 young children out of Gaza, to safety in Egypt. Now, we are desperately trying to get the rest of her family to safety and reunite them all.

The family consists of 5 young children and their parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles. The youngest child is Baby Ahmed, who is just 8 weeks old. The family of 12 are living in the ruins of an apartment in Nuseirat, in the central Gaza Strip. The apartment is uninhabitable after a neighboring house was bombed. The sound of drones, planes and bombing are constant. Living there is harsh and difficult, with no running water, no electricity and very little food, but there is no alternative. They are trapped. The young children are traumatised and their parents are petrified for their safety.

Noor's sister-in-law, Suhad, is now a young widow. She gave birth to baby Ahmed in horrific conditions & without his father present. Ahmed, who is just 8 weeks old, will never get to meet his father. Suhad has two other children, Ali age 7 and Sarah age 4. Sarah and Nour's own daughter Hoor, who is also 4, used to play together in the playground all the time and are asking for each other every day. But they are now separated & there are no playgrounds for the children to play in. We want to reunite these cousins and the entire family because playing together in safety and peace is the very least that they deserve. Baby Ahmed, in his short 8 weeks, has been subjected to the sounds and harsh realities of war. Constant drones overhead, limited supply of nappies, with no access to his routine vaccines and no father there to scoop him up into his arms.

Nour's mother, had a mastectomy after having cancer and her condition has not been medically reviewed for 6 months, as the oncology hospital is no longer functioning. Her health is at serious risk and she needs to be medically reviewed. Nour's own baby, Ahmed, is 12 months old and was particularly close to his granny. He hasn't had a kiss from his granny since they fled Rafah 2 months ago. They need to be reunited.

Nour's brother Tariq, his wife Alaa, and his children Zeina age 4 and Ziad who is 2, are also trapped. Tariq was an engineer. He is desperate to leave Gaza to get his wife and children to safety and to find work so he can rebuild a new life for them. Nour's father Ziad, brother Muhammad and sister Israa are also desperate to leave with the rest of the family and to be reunited with Nour & the children.

This family has lost so much and their lives are in our hands. The amount we are desperately trying to raise is €55,000. Although the border crossing is now closed, you can still register to leave Gaza, but this costs money. The Rafah border crossing fee is €5,000 per adult and €2,500 per child. When the border re-opens, this family wish to leave Gaza and to be reunited in safety with Nour. The family will then use the remaining €7,500 for transfer fees, to purchase nappies, formula, transportation, food, clothing, and housing. The money will be sent to Nour's husband, Abdullah, who is currently working as a Physics teacher in Kuwait since before the war began. He will arrange to register the family with Ya Hala office in Cairo, Egypt, so they can cross the border to safety when it re-opens.

It is harrowing that we need to even raise money for people to escape a war, but this is the harsh reality and their lives are in our hands. Please help us to save the lives of these 5 young children, their parents and grandparents so we can get them to safety and reunite them with Nour. They need to grieve, heal and rebuild their lives. The children need to play in safety with their cousins and to get their childhoods back. You can make a difference to their lives. So please help us to help them.
