At 2 in the morning, a pipe burst in our home, flooding everything. Thankfully, our 3-year-old son Grayson was with his grandparents for the weekend, but Adam and I had to act fast. We grabbed a few essentials, shut off the electricity, and found a last-minute hotel. The landlord paid for just one night, leaving us to figure out the rest on our own. When I went back to our house to get some necessary items and clothes, everything was soaked. The owners had turned on the heat, which caused the water to steam and made things even worse. When I returned again to try and salvage more, I found that mold had taken over almost everything we owned.
Now, we are facing the overwhelming task of replacing three mattresses, two bed frames (one for us and one for Grayson), five dressers, appliances, clothes, toys, bedding, and so much more. Our home is being renovated, but we do not have the funds to replace what was lost. This has been an incredibly rough time for our family, and we are doing our best to stay strong for Grayson. Any support you can give would mean the world to us as we try to rebuild and create a safe, comfortable home for our son again. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can offer.
