Last year, my furnace stopped working entirely. I found out it was over 40 years old and couldn't be repaired. Without the funds to replace it, my kids and I managed to get through the cold weather using space heaters. I hoped to do the same this year, but the extreme cold was too much for my home. Despite using heat tape and keeping the faucets dripping, my water froze just before the last storm. Thankfully, my kids and I were able to temporarily stay with family nearby until the water thawed out.

When I returned home to check on things, I was devastated to find burst pipes in two separate areas, with water pouring out underneath my house. I shut off the water main, but now I'm stuck trying to figure out my next steps. With repairs, the need for a new furnace, and new water lines, the costs are overwhelming. Without these repairs, my kids and I no longer have a house to come home to. I am so grateful for family letting us stay with them for now, but long term, it’s not ideal.

I'm not one to reach out like this for help, but I'm at a loss. I just want to provide my kids with the safe space and home that they deserve. Any support you can give would mean the world to us and help us get back on our feet.
