Hi, I’m Tameka, a veteran who served 13 years in the Army. I’ve always been a very prideful person and rarely ask for help, but after a recent experience, I find myself with nowhere else to turn. Before you ask about savings, most of it has been depleted with the recent purchase of the home.
My family and I are facing a devastating situation after hiring a contractor to complete renovations on our home. We are currently paying rent in the home we are in now and mortgage on the home we just bought to be renovated. We paid the contractor upfront for labor and materials, trusting that the work would be done professionally and on time. Unfortunately, after receiving a significant portion of the payment, the contractor abandoned the job, leaving our home unfinished and taking the remaining funds and materials with them.
Our home is now in an unsafe and incomplete condition, with critical parts of the renovation left undone. This has created a financial and emotional burden for my family and me, as we now face additional costs to repair the damage and hire a reliable contractor to finish the work. What was supposed to be an exciting improvement to our home has turned into a source of stress and hardship.
We are actively exploring legal options, but the process takes time, and we urgently need help to repair and secure our home, replace stolen or missing materials, hire a trustworthy contractor to complete the project, and cover unexpected expenses caused by this situation. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward restoring our home and helping us recover from this hardship. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser and a prayer would mean just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can provide during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Tameka & Family
