Help Us Rescue & Place Stray Kittens

This morning, we became unplanned foster parents to 6 adorable kittens, approximately 3-4 weeks old. They were hiding throughout our backyard, likely sheltering from the recent storms, and our dog Peppa alerted us to come help.

We have moved them to a closed off section of our yard to keep them safe and set them up with blankets and formula in an open container should their mom come back to care for them. Either way, we have decided to care for them (and mama, if she returns) and find them homes.

We are in Florida (a high-kill state) with the no-kill shelters at max capacity and small kittens at the largest risk for dying in care. We aren’t going to let that happen.

As many of you know, we are animal people. We have 5 fur babies, all rescues, and are dedicated to no-kill rescue efforts. Our latest addition, Frida, was a stray who showed up in a similar way and we have nursed her back to health from some serious ailments.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the resources to provide the full care that they need so we are starting this Go-Fund Me. This will cover formula (and then food), a more proper shelter set up, vet visits, and relocation costs to get them to their furever homes in a few weeks when they are old enough to travel. There is another pregnant cat in the neighborhood we are keeping an eye on, too, so more kittens will likely be coming in. We have been working with our neighbor, who feeds many of these strays and we have gotten her to agree to let us take the four cats that stay on her property spayed and neutered to help combat the issue (yay!). Any excess funds collected will support these forthcoming kittens that spay and neutering.
