Help us rescue Dow Jones (the cat)
Tax deductible
Dow Jones is a sweet kitty with what we can only guess has been a hard year, if not longer. He was found in medical collapse on the street from being neglected and malnourished. He is very much a house cat that someone dumped. He is only 3 years old, he was not neutered or microchipped, and is FIV+. After being rushed to the vet on the first day we found him, he was found with infections on all 4 paws and a large abscess on his leg. He spent 4 weeks getting stronger at the vet and we were very hopefully this sweet little boy was recovering well. However, at his foster home he began having difficulty breathing. He was then taken back to the vet and diagnosed with pneumonia, and given a new course of antibiotics and we were hopeful once again. Fast forward to last night, we were informed his lungs had not improved despite 2 weeks of treatment and we needed to consider getting him into a specialist. 2 hours later he began having trouble breathing and was clearly in a state of medical emergency, once again. He has been at VERG overnight. He is currently in an oxygen chamber and needs advanced diagnostics to figure out why his pneumonia has not improved. This boy really deserves a chance. And as you can imagine, his vet bills are rising fast. If we cannot raise the money we are going to have to make a heartbreaking decision. Please share. Please give what you can. He is such a sweet soul and deserves so much more than his short life has given him so far.
