Help Us Represent Israel at the Robotics World Finals
Donation protected
We are PetroBlitz - a robotics team of 15-year-olds from Hakfar Hayarok High School in Ramat HaSharon, Israel. We’ve been selected to represent Israel this June at the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) World Finals in Florida, after ranking in the top 4 out of nearly 600 teams across the country!
This is the culmination of a journey that started back in 7th grade - filled with teamwork, learning, late-night builds, and plenty of trial and error. Now, we have the chance to take our skills, our innovation, and our passion to the global stage - but we can’t get there without your help.
What Makes PetroBlitz So Unique?
Our team is built around a special “kids teach kids” model. As 9th-grade students, we not only design, build, and compete with our own robots - we also mentor younger students in grades 7 and 8. Most of our team members are girls, and we take pride in leading and empowering the next wave of young innovators.
We built a "Very Special" Robot
This year, we broke the mold. Instead of using the traditional build method of interchangeable attachments, we created a modular ‘core and suits’ system - the judges told us this was an entirely new concept in the 20-year history of FLL competitions! This approach lets our robot detect the suit it was wearing and switch full sets of functions rapidly to complete multiple tasks in parallel. It’s smart, efficient, and 100% original — built from the ground up by our team. (Did we mention we’re only 15 years old!)
Our Innovation Didn’t Stop There
Beyond building a robot, we also developed an entrepreneurial project tackling a real-world problem: the limitations of underwater ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles). We built a functional proof-of-concept model, created a business plan, and consulted with experts - including professors, researchers, and the director of the Faculty of Marine Sciences at Ruppin Academic Center in Mikhmoret.
Why We Need Your Help
Getting the full team of 15 students to Florida to represent Israel costs approximately 150,000 NIS (~$40,000 USD) - about $2,700 per student.
Your donation will help us cover:
- Flights, accommodation, and meals
- Competition materials
- Equipment transport
- Team gear and uniforms
We are working hard to fundraise through sponsorships and community donations, and every contribution counts - big or small.
Be Part of Our Journey
This isn’t just about one competition. It’s about showing what young minds can do when given the tools, the trust, and the opportunity. By supporting PetroBlitz, you’re investing in youth, education, and the future of technology in Israel.
Thank you for believing in us and helping make our dream come true!
