We're a family of 4 with one parent in a wheelchair. Our one working car has decided after 300k miles, the engine is done. The rest of the car is in good shape, and it's going to be more cost effective to replace the motor on this than to buy something else.

The biggest issue is that our incomes in the house were from driving Doordash. Without this car, we have zero income and since the system isn't recognizing the disability despite being in a wheelchair, we don't even have *that* limited income.

We've priced out a good used engine and found a couple shops willing to do the job, but the total cost is going to be around $3000.
