​Our Story

​My name is Hershel. I am an 80-year-old, 100% disabled veteran, and my wife and I have spent our lives trying to provide a sanctuary for our family. For the last three years, our home has been a full house—at one point sheltering ten family members.

​Right now, our primary focus is my 101-year-old mother. She is a fighter who recently underwent surgery to remove colon cancer. She is finally home and recovering, but we are facing a crisis that we cannot fix on our own.

​The Crisis

​During a recent snowstorm, our decade-old HVAC unit gave out completely. With our credit stretched thin from years of supporting our large household, we haven't been able to secure a loan for a replacement.

​Currently, we are relying on:

​Space Heaters: These provide uneven heat and are a constant worry.

​Extreme Stress: As the seasons change, the thought of the upcoming summer heat is overwhelming.
