Help Us Replace Our Broken AC and Keep Our Family Safe

Hi, my name is Terran, but when I stream, I go by Bluey, and I’m reaching out to the community for support during an incredibly challenging time for my family. I am the sole caretaker for my stepmother, who is 56 years old and suffers from early-onset dementia and Alzheimer’s, heart failure, lung failure, and just returned home from the hospital 2 weeks ago after dealing with 4 infections, including one around her heart, as well as my 15-year-old adopted son, who is high support needs autistic. I’ve dedicated my life to providing for and protecting their well-being for over a decade.

Recently, on April 16th, I was unexpectedly fired from my job. Since then, I have been frantically searching for work to support our family. Just when I thought things couldn’t get more complicated, the unbearable heat hit our city, and our air conditioning unit broke down completely. It's not just any AC; this unit was improperly sized for our home (it’s meant for a home around 600 sqft, while our house is 2000 sqft), and it’s now unusable due to severely impacted coils.

The situation is dire. With summer approaching, the lack of cooling poses a significant risk to my disabled stepmother and my son, both of whom are vulnerable to heat-related health issues. The current state of our air conditioning could lead to hospital visits if we do not act quickly. To ensure our safety, we urgently need to replace the entire unit with one appropriately sized for our home, which will not only help us stay cool but also ensure that our existing furnace remains undamaged.

We contacted the previous owner and realtor regarding any promised servicing, but it seems that the maintenance that should have been done was never completed. As a result, we’re left with mounting stress and the fear of what the summer could bring.
