Located in the green belt in South London with easy access from the M25. Less than an hour from central London by public transport so an excellent base for visiting the Capital’s sites.

Frylands Wood focuses on the outdoor elements of the Scout Programme, managed in a way which encourages and enables as many young people as possible to enjoy and experience the benefits of outdoor Scouting. This includes non-Scouting groups such as schools, Churches and other youth groups. We also offer children’s birthday parties or corporate away-days.

The site provides a number of facilities: 60 acres of woodland providing a safe environment for outdoor activities or traditional camping with the option to cook on ground fires; a number of open activity fields; 2 accommodation buildings to provide an indoor base for outdoor activity; adventurous activity provided by trained volunteer staff; a Warden and volunteer crew to support users.

Unfortunately, due to age, it is in dire need of repair and replacement, it has been out of action since June and we are desperate to get it up and running again.

It is enjoyed regularly by Scout and Guide, School and Church groups with ages ranging from 4 to 40years.

The Assault Course promotes enjoyment of the outdoors environment, teamwork, motor skills, balance, as well as a self of self challenge and achievement.

We have been looking for ways to raise funds to replace our tired and broken Assault Course and would now kindly ask the wider community to help us reach our goal and get this much loved activity up and running for all to enjoy.
