On Sunday, December 14, 2025, I went to The Red & White Shop in Raleigh, NC, to pick up some NC State Wolfpack merchandise. When I came out of the store about 15 minutes later, I was shocked to find that my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica had been hit by a hit-and-run driver. There was no one around, and unfortunately, there were no cameras in the parking lot or on the storefronts to help identify who did it.
After contacting my auto insurance carrier, USAA, my wife and I were stunned to learn that our collision coverage had been removed back in December 2024. This meant that our insurance would not cover any of the damage, leaving us to face the repair costs on our own. The damage to the rear lift gate and the back right passenger side quarter panel assembly was significant. When I took the Pacifica to Cary Auto Body Specialist, Steven explained that both the functional and cosmetic repairs would be expensive and necessary to get us back on the road.
To make matters even more difficult, I have been unemployed since October 30, 2025, after my contract job as a Project Manager ended with the successful completion of the project. Right now, we are struggling to pay our bills, let alone cover the cost of repairing our only vehicle. Currently, my wife and I cannot even drive the Pacifica until we come up with the funds to repair the functional damage. This has made daily life much more difficult for us. We would be so grateful for any support to help us get our van back on the road. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to us during this challenging time.
