Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to read and sharing our story with others.

We are seniors living in the beautiful foothills of central northern California, and my husband is a Marine Corps veteran. The transmission on our 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix is failing and needs repair as soon as possible. Our car is essential for medical travel, as he needs to reach specialists for serious health conditions — a brain aneurysm and coronary artery disease — which require long‑distance travel for the help he needs. Without our only car, we are unable to travel for medical care and basic everyday living. We also travel to San Francisco for my epilepsy care, which is a 2.5–3‑hour drive each way.

Living on a fixed income, we cannot cover the cost of these urgent repairs on our own. Although this is embarrassing to do, a long‑time family friend reminded us, “No need to be embarrassed! Sometimes we all need a hand up, and that’s totally different than a handout.”

Funds raised will go directly toward our car’s repairs. Every share helps reach more people who might be able to lend a hand. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
