My husband and I are facing a difficult time and need your help. The transmission on our 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix is failing fast and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. Reliable transportation is essential especially because my husband has serious medical conditions — a brain aneurysm, two heart blockages, and possible cancer — that require long‑distance travel for the help he needs. Without our only car, we are unable to travel for medical care and everyday living. We drive to San Francisco for my epilepsy care as well, which is a 2.5-3‑hour drive each way.
We are seniors living in the beautiful foothills of central northern California. My husband is a Marine Corps veteran. Living on a fixed income, we cannot cover the cost of these urgent repairs on our own. Although this is embarrassing for us to do, a long‑time friend reminded me, “No need to be embarrassed! Sometimes we all need a hand up, and that’s totally different than a hand out.”
Funds raised will go directly toward replacing our car’s transmission. We are truly grateful for any help. Thank you for your kindness.
