My name is Candida, and I live in Pensacola, Florida. I recently started buying my home, and after a severe storm, my roof began leaking badly. The damage has gotten worse, and now the ceiling in my dining room has already fallen in. I’m worried about mold and the risk of the ceiling collapsing even more, especially since I’m the only one working and trying to keep up with bills and repairs.

I care for my sister Linda, who is very sick with COPD and heart failure, and is on end-of-life hospice care. I also care for my niece Xena, who is autistic and has seizures, and my 12-year-old daughter. My daughter is a wonderful young lady who tries to help around the house and yard. She loves playing football and spending time with her friends in the backyard, and I’ve been doing my best to fix up the yard for her so she can have a safe place to play.

With Linda’s health, I’m especially worried about the risk of mold in the house. I’ve been told the roof will likely need a full replacement, but I simply can’t afford it on my own.
