Help Us Rebuild the Heart of Our Longmont Community
On the morning of December 19th, a dangerous and unexpected windstorm severely damaged the roof of our Longmont Climbing Collective location. The damage was extensive, and after assessment, we have learned the roof is not salvageable and will need to be completely replaced in the coming days and possibly weeks.
Because this was a wind-related incident, our insurance deductible increased dramatically, from $2,500 to $311,856. Insurance companies, after the Marshall Fire several years ago, have raised hail and wind coverage dramatically. For any non wind/hail related event, our deductible is $2,500, unfortunately, this was a wind related event.
The Climbing Collective is more than a gym. It is a dynamic, deeply engaged community of climbers, fitness enthusiasts, and yogis who come together around challenge, creativity, mindfulness, and wellness. We are a small, family-owned business, built from passion and perseverance and not backed by big corporate funding or deep pockets.
Climbing is an art and a challenge we love. Our yoga and training programs support strength, mindfulness, and overall well-being. This space has been a home for so many of us, and seeing it temporarily closed is heartbreaking.
This closure does not just affect our walls and roof. It affects over 75 hardworking employees who depend on this space for their livelihoods. The financial strain of major repairs combined with lost revenue during closure places real pressure on our entire community.
We are asking for help.
If you are able to give, any amount truly makes a difference. If you are a member, one of the most powerful ways to support us is by keeping your membership active rather than canceling during this closure and visiting our Loveland or Greeley locations in the meantime.
Your support helps us:
- Replace the damaged roof
- Reopen the Longmont location safely
- Support our staff through this difficult period
- Keep our community strong and connected
We have always believed that climbing teaches us how to face adversity together with resilience and trust. Thank you for helping us rebuild, recover, and continue serving the community we love.
With gratitude,
The Climbing Collective Team
