Help Us Remove a Dangerous Tree Before It’s Too Late

Hi, my name is Marie, and I’m a homeowner in Coraopolis, PA. I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this… but after a recent storm, I’m facing a situation that’s urgent, overwhelming, and beyond my household’s ability to handle alone.

During the recent & crazy windstorm we had in the area, a large portion of the massive tree in our yard snapped and came crashing down! With parts of the tree landing in our yard (crushing our yard furniture & Dog Run) as well as our next-door neighbor’s roof and property. Thankfully, no one was hurt. But it easily could have been so much worse!

The tree is still standing, but it’s unstable. And my fear is that another storm could bring down the rest of it… and this time it could fall on someone’s home again, a car, or even a person.

It makes my eyes water to even think about what could happen if we don’t act fast in removing it!

I’ve gotten estimates to safely remove the tree, its pieces, and the debris and they’re over $10,000. That’s something we just can’t afford on our own. I’m doing everything I can, but after weighing every option, I’m reaching out and asking for support from anyone willing and able to help.

This isn’t easy for me to ask because I know there are so many other people in need, and it’s hard to feel like my situation deserves attention. But I also know that preventing a tragedy is better than reacting to one! I just want to keep my home, my family, and my neighbors safe.

One of our neighbors from down the street caught the very moment part of the tree fell (the cover photo is a still from that video of our tree on top of our neighbors roof) and shared it on social media. The video now has millions of views and continues to spread.

Im still in awe that he was able to catch it and I never expected it to get that kind of attention… but I’m grateful! It shows how fast things can change, and just how dangerous this situation really was and still is.
