Justice for Sal – A Devastating Loss, Family Seeking Answers
Donation protected
Dear Family, Friends and Community,
Our family is heartbroken beyond words.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 22, 2025, around 12:50 AM, our beloved Sal Ramirez — a hardworking security guard at 99 Bottles & Cocktails in Anaheim, California — was senselessly and violently attacked. While simply doing his job, he was shot in the head, without warning or provocation.
He was rushed to the hospital, but the injury was considered devastating and catastrophic. Doctors informed us there was no brain activity, only minimal brain stem function. Sal was placed on life support, but there was no hope of recovery. He was pronounced dead late in the day on June 23rd.
Sal is survived by his loving wife Nancy Ramirez, and their five beautiful children: Yulissa, Chris, Kayla, Isabella, and Victoria Ramirez. He was their protector, their provider, and their heart. His loss has left a devastating void in the lives of everyone who loved him.
Sal was not only a protector — he was deeply loving, selfless, and warm. He had a huge heart and was always accommodating and helpful to everyone around him. At work, he was known for looking after female patrons, defending his coworkers, and making everyone feel safe. Regulars adored him. His coworkers respected him. And anyone who met him quickly saw the kindness in his soul.
He never sought recognition — he just genuinely cared. Sal brought calm to chaos, light to heavy moments, and comfort to those in need. His presence was strong, his love was steady, and his heart was full of generosity.
We are creating this GoFundMe to support the Ramirez family with:
Funeral and memorial arrangements to honor Sal with the dignity he deserves
Support for Nancy and the children as they face life without him
Legal and ongoing expenses related to this tragic and senseless act
Justice efforts as authorities investigate Sal’s murder
Sal was so much more than this tragedy. He was a husband, a loving father, a protector, and a friend. He deserved to come home that night — and he deserves to be remembered for the love, strength, and safety he gave so freely to others.
A little bit about me, my name is Cynthia Gonzalez and Sal Ramirez was my brother-in-law and his surviving wife Nancy is my sister. I’m the aunt of Sal’s children and godmother to Isabella, his second youngest daughter. I created this gofund me to help support my sister and nieces and nephew.
Please help us honor Sal’s memory, support his family, and carry forward the love and light he gave to this world. Every donation, share, and prayer means more than we can say.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this devastating and challenging time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and love.
With love and gratitude,
Cynthia Gonzalez
