The Jett Family is heartbroken to share the passing of Monty Jett, a beloved voice of the Lowcountry and a soul deeply connected to Hilton Head Island. Monty was a friend to all, a music lover, and a storyteller who left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Now, we are asking for your help in honoring his legacy.

We are planning a special Celebration of Life on Friday, November 15 from 4-7 pm at Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn to honor Monty’s vibrant spirit with food, music, and stories that reflect who he was.

Any funds raised beyond event expenses will be donated to the charities that meant the most to Monty, continuing his tradition of giving back to the community he loved.

Through his passion for raising charitable funds and giving back to the community, Monty’s impact has reached far beyond the airwaves. None of this would have been possible without Joy 108 first bringing him here in 1988. That’s why we’ve set the goal of raising $108,000—honoring the journey that started with Monty’s arrival and continuing his legacy of giving back to the community that welcomed him.
