It is with the heaviest heart that I share the news of Juan’s passing. Sadly last Monday he injured himself to the point where recovery was impossible. He would have had to endure a long surgery where his outcome was very uncertain. I have had Juan since I was 11 years old. He was 6 months away from turning 15. I can’t help but be in denial of everything that has happened in the last week. Juan has become a part of me and my grief for him is the most painful thing I’ve experienced in a long time. I do not know how to live my life without him by my side. This is a journey I hoped and believed I would experience years from now. Juan was the type of dog who impacted people’s lives because he was truly authentic and loving. Everyone who knows me knows of him. He is an extension of me. His memory will live on with me forever. I am grateful for the years I had with him and that he loved me as much as I loved him. He was always loved and that will never change.

I am asking for some support in helping pay for some of his medical bills throughout the last week. I had to visit numerous vets, including the emergency vet, in order to give him treatment in his final days. This was something unexpected for me because he has always been in incredibly health. I am worried about paying this and upcoming bills. I am never the person to ask for handouts but I am in a tough place mentally. I haven’t been going to work and would appreciate anyone’s generosity during this transition. Thank you to anyone that can extend an olive branch.
