Benjamin Lee Bechtel was born in Sacramento, California on January 6th, 1962. He met his wife Chris and her son Jacob, in Juneau, Alaska. Ben and Chris were married for 34 years.
Ben had a positive impact on everyone he met. His big smile and outgoing personality was a perfect combination to connect with people. His main concern was always making sure everyone he ever talked to, had a chance to know who Jesus Christ is and how He could change their lives. Everyone in his neighborhood knew him as someone that wasn't afraid to start a conversation that would ultimately lead to a friendship.
He loved working on cars and spending time with his four grandkids. His unshakeable faith was evident in his words and actions, as well as his love of Christ. Not a single person he met didn't end up hearing of the goodness of God. Though his health suffered greatly for many years, he never let it get him down and he never doubted his purpose.
He was loved so much by his wife Chris, his sons, Jacob and Michael, his daughter Rachelle, and his daughter-in-law Andrea Bechtel. He will be missed so incredibly much.
Ben passed away on Thursday, May 27th and is now dancing with the angels in Heaven.
