Help Us Remember Barry Hunsinger by the Watchung Lake

My name is Danelia Hunsinger. This summer, we lost my father, Barry Hunsinger, to cancer. My dad was a dedicated participant and member of the Watchung community. He served the town of Watchung in various ways for decades. This December 7th, he will be honored at the Watchung Tree Lighting for all his efforts in town. At this event, I would like to be able to announce the donation of a bench near Watchung Lake in his honor.

On May 12th, 2024, I brought my father and our dog Bella to the lake, and we hung out in the gazebo until he couldn't bear to sit there any longer. He asked if we could go to Gabriel's Fountain for ice cream. I happily obliged, and it was our last really good day together before he got too weak to do anything. He passed 2 months later. That day is a memory I will cherish forever.

Unfortunately, his illness cost our family a lot financially and emotionally, and it would take years for me to be able to fund this donation alone. This is why I am asking for help to reach this goal for my dad. He spent his whole life in Watchung, and his ashes are buried nearby at Wilson Memorial Church. I would love to have a bench in his name so we can all go sit there and have another day with Barry by the lake.
