My husband is a talented Black vegan chef, and together we have poured our hearts into building a culinary business that shares our love for plant-based food and holistic living. After years of facing discrimination and limited opportunities in California, we made the difficult decision to move to Wisconsin to be closer to our daughter and her fiancé, and to start fresh. Unfortunately, the challenges have followed us here. In La Crosse, my husband continues to encounter barriers in the culinary industry, where Black chefs are rarely seen in leadership roles. Despite his skills and dedication, he has struggled to find fair employment, and it has been exhausting to keep searching for the right match that aligns with his values and work ethic.

We had to put our vegan culinary business on hold when we moved, but our dream is to relaunch it here in Wisconsin. Our vision is to offer catering, pop-ups, private chef services, cooking classes for kids, and to complete our vegan cookbook. We want to bring something new to La Crosse, help the town grow, and be positive examples in our community. The funds we raise will go toward essential equipment, website design, marketing, creating inventory, renting kitchen spaces, and supporting our family while we get the business off the ground.

We are at a crossroads, and your support would mean the world to us.
