Help Us Recover from Multiple Financial Hardships
Earlier this year, on February 14th, our beloved son, Jake Whaley, tragically passed away from a fentanyl overdose at the age of 27. With no estate to help cover the costs, I took on the burden of his funeral expenses, which totaled around $8,000. We still owe $1,000 to a close friend (whom I consider a brother) and $2,200 to the funeral home, which we've been paying off in monthly installments.
In the past few months, our family has faced several unexpected financial setbacks on top of the funeral expenses, including a costly auto repair and the sudden loss of my work contract. Just last week, we were dealt another blow when our dog, Cash, was hit by a car. Thankfully, he’s going to make a full recovery, but his medical bills have added another $2,500 to our financial strain.
Those who know me understand how difficult it is for me to ask for help. I take great pride in being self-sufficient, but after much encouragement from family and friends, I've decided to set aside my pride and reach out for assistance. Writing this message is incredibly painful, and asking for help is even harder. However, any support you can offer during this challenging time would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
