Story:
We are Pat and Geri , a family that moved from California to return to Ohio to be closer to my family. We invested our savings and a construction loan into a home renovation, only to be defrauded by licensed contractors. After a year of paying for a renovation, our home was discovered to be incomplete and dangerous. Together, we care for Pat's sister, Jennine, who is disabled and lives with us full-time. We invested our life savings and a home renovation loan to create a safe, accessible space for our family, including Jennine and Geri's 93-year-old mother.
Instead of a safe, accessible home for my autistic sister-in-law (65) and Geri’s mother when she visits (93), we arrived in June 2024 to find:
• No kitchen or working bathrooms
• Trash and debris that made the home unlivable
• Exposed wiring.
• Inadequate wiring that could have caused a fire.
• Plumbing failures
• Appliances and windows paid for, but never ordered
• No insulation in any new walls
• Over $130,000 in funds lost or misused
• Not one single Pepper Pike inspection was passed by Laura Mineff of LJM Construction
Legal Action Is Underway
The Pepper Pike Police Department is actively investigating whether the actions of:
• Robert Henderson (New Design Image)
• Laura Mineff (LJM Construction / Array Design)
constitute criminal fraud or civil negligence.
• We have contacted the Ohio Attorney General and the contractors refused any form of resolution.
We've already spent over $10,000 in legal fees, with no funds recovered.
Why We Need Your Help
We are left in an unfinished home and feel abandoned by the system. Our family is trying to rebuild from this nightmare, and we urgently need help to:
1. Continue our legal fight for justice
2. Finish our home so we can live safely
We have a wonderful new contractor, BUCCILLI CONTRACTING CO. He is currently repairing the work of LJM Construction.
How Your Support Helps
• $20,000 – Legal fees (lawyer retainers, filings, insurance claims)
• $40,000 – Repairs (electrical, plumbing, appliances, insulation, windows, flooring)
We have receipts, inspection reports, and police documentation to back every claim.
From Our Family to Yours
We’re not only fighting for our home, but we’re also fighting for accountability. Your support, in any amount, helps us take the next step forward.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Pat and Geri Arnold
