Help Us Recover From a Devastating Wildfire in Portugal
Donation protected
On Monday 28th July, a wildfire swept through our small farm in rural Portugal, leaving behind a trail of destruction. Around 300 (about half) of our precious olive trees —over 100 years old — were lost, we hope the rest will recover. Also lost was our eucalyptus forest, cork oaks, and some vital farm equipment.
Our trailer and a large stock of animal feed were also destroyed. Thanks to my husband’s courage and quick thinking, our sheep shed and farmhouse were saved — but the damage is heartbreaking.
We’ve poured our hearts into this land, nurturing trees that not only sustain us, but are part of a living landscape we love and protect. Now we are facing the enormous task of starting over: replacing trees, rebuilding infrastructure, and ensuring our animals have the feed they need to get through the coming months.
We’re reaching out for help to raise funds to:
• Replant olive, and cork trees
• Replace lost animal feed
• Repair or replace farm equipment and tools
• Rebuild essential infrastructure for our animals and land
Any support — whether financial or by sharing our story — means the world to us. We are determined to recover, replant, and restore our farm, and every contribution helps us take a step forward.
Thank you so much for standing with us in this difficult time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sarah & Victor
