What started as one of the best days of the year turned into one of the scariest nights of my life.
I had just spent the day at Universal Studios in Orlando with two of my close friends. We laughed, hit all the rides, and made some amazing memories. The day felt perfect — until it wasn’t.
On the way home that night, we were driving on Florida’s Turnpike in typical stop-and-go traffic. Things had just started to pick up, and I made sure to keep a safe distance between my car and the SUV in front of me. Suddenly, traffic came to another halt — and that’s when it happened.
As I hit my brakes, I heard a loud grinding sound. My heart dropped. The car wouldn’t stop. No matter how hard I pressed the brakes, they just weren’t responding. For ten long seconds, I was helpless — stuck on a two-lane road, unable to swerve, unable to stop. I rear-ended the SUV in front of me.
Thankfully, everyone was okay. No injuries, and I’ll always be grateful for that. But we were stranded — two hours from home, late at night, with a totaled car and no way to get back.
Now, I’m stuck without a reliable car and desperately in need of help to get back on my feet. Anything — truly anything — helps. Whether it’s support, advice, or just sharing my story, I’m grateful.
Life can change in seconds. I learned that the hard way. But I’m staying strong and hopeful — one day at a time.
My goal is $10,000 thank you for listening.
