On the night of January 17th, my family and I experienced a devastating house fire that took everything we own. While we are incredibly grateful that insurance is covering our hotel stay, it does not cover the immediate, everyday needs we are facing right now. We are starting from zero. All of our belongings were destroyed—including clothes, shoes, personal items, household necessities, and our debit cards. Our car was also lost in the fire, and without car insurance, we are left without transportation.

Right now, our focus is on getting through each day: finding clothing and shoes, toiletries and personal care items, food and daily living expenses, transportation and temporary mobility, and replacing essential documents and cards. We are safe, and our cats are safe—but everything else is gone. This fundraiser is not about replacing a home or duplicating insurance coverage. It is about bridging the gap during this immediate crisis so we can function, get to appointments, replace necessities, and stabilize while the long-term pieces come together.

We truly appreciate the support the community has offered and the kindness people have shown us. It's been a truly beautiful thing during a truly devastating time.
