Help Us Recover After A Devastating Apartment Flood
Donation protected
Hello there, my name is Lianet and I’m a single mom of two little girls. Some of you might remember our last emergency. Our basement apartment flooded with sewage. That GoFundMe was the only reason we were able to stay in a hotel and keep my girls safe during Christmas when the landlord refused to help.
Now it’s happening again.
But this time, it’s even worse.
On May 15th, a pipe burst in the apartment above ours. Water came pouring through the ceiling and light fixtures. The stove was destroyed. The apartment flooded. Our belongings were soaked. I had to throw out food, clothing, cookware so much gone in just a few hours.
I’m cleaning everything myself, again. No professional help. No compensation. Just me, an exhausted disabled mom trying to protect my daughters in a home that keeps falling apart around them.
This time, the landlord not only refused to help, he told me he is cutting the lights and that I need to “figure it out” on my own. After flooding our home twice, he is now trying to illegally force us out. We’ve contacted city and state officials and are in the process of filing reports, but that help takes time. And my daughters need safety now.
We are asking for help to:
Replace our stove
Buy groceries, cookware, and essentials we lost
Afford temporary shelter if things get worse
Cover costs while we wait for city intervention
Cover security deposit if we are forced out suddenly
This isn’t easy to ask. I have been fighting through crisis after crisis, working hard, raising my girls, and doing everything I can. But i am out of resources. I am emotionally and physically drained. Terrified for my girls.
If you can help in any way, by donating, sharing, or simply spreading the word, it means everything to us.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring.
With love and hope,
Lianet
