Help Us Recoup after Displacement and Hardships

Hello, my name is Arian Scalise. I’m a published author, copy editor, and narrative design consultant for multiple projects including comic books and narrative driven games. I'm also a certified personal trainer and online coach. As hard as I work, I never thought I’d be in such a vulnerable position where I’d have to ask for help from strangers on the internet. My partner and I have been doing our best to stay afloat, but life has hit us with one challenge after another.

Recently, the devastating LA fires displaced us, forcing us to start over when we were already struggling to find a steady living situation and consistent income. We’ve had to stay with family and friends for many months now as we navigated each setback. As if that wasn’t enough, I was recently rushed to the hospital due to kidney complications, resulting in an ambulance ride and medical bills we simply cannot afford on our own.

I am a cancer survivor, a plane crash survivor resulting in a TBI, and have long battled autoimmune health challenges, but I’ve always pushed forward, determined to build a stable future. However, between mounting medical expenses, the cost of finding an affordable home after displacement, and ongoing debt from past hardships, we are now in a place where we don't know what else to do.

We are humbly asking for support to get us back on our feet in a big way, and one day be in a position to pay your kindness forward. Our goal is to use your magnanimous help covering essentials like first and last month's rent, medical bills, and basic living costs while we work toward regaining financial stability. Without that stability, we’re stuck. Every dollar, share, and kind word means the world to us.
