Hi, we're Becca and Charlie. We are planning on roadtripping up the East Coast of Australia starting in Melbourne. As we were weeks away from hitting the road we unfortunately had our van stolen from us. After two days of the van missing our hopes of getting it back had withered, and then to some miracle, it was found an hour away. As happy as we were to get the van back, we were distraught with the condition it was in. Our travel utilities such as fridge, extra battery, tools, cooking equipment, and shelves had been stripped. The ignition and other wiring had been messed with and we weren't sure it was even salvageable. Thankfully, we found a great mechanic who was confident that they could repair our van. The day we were supposed to get the van back from the mechanics we got a phone call saying that someone had again attempted to steal our van. Luckily they didn't get far but the work that the mechanics had done on the ignition as well as some wiring had been ruined. So again our van is in the mechanics getting more repairs, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we can get it back before our road-worthy certificate expires so we can finally get it registered. So in two weeks we had our van stolen twice but found it; so we decided to name our van BoomDini. A mixture of boomerang and Houdini because it likes to disappear and come back! We are hoping to get on the road by the end of September and any donations towards the rebuild and repairs would be highly appreciated!
