If you know me, you know this is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write. I have always been the person who quietly gives when someone else is in need. I never imagined I would be the one asking for help.

Our family lost our home in the Beulah wildfire. Along with our home, we lost the place where we built our lives, made memories, celebrated holidays, and felt safe. Just two days before the fire, we celebrated our son's wedding in our home, surrounded by loved ones. While we are incredibly grateful that our family is safe, the loss is heartbreaking. Several years ago, after we paid off our home, our insurance company chose not to renew our homeowners policy. We spent countless hours contacting other insurance companies, hoping to find coverage, but because of the wildfire risk in our area, no company was willing to insure our home. We had no choice but to become self-insured, never imagining we would face a disaster like this.

As difficult as it is for me to ask, we now need help rebuilding our lives.
