Dear Friends,

My name is Esraa, and I am a university student living with my family in Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, our lives have been turned upside down by war. The ongoing devastation has made living conditions unbearable, and each day becomes harder than the last.

We were forced to leave our home, taking only a few clothes and basic tools, thinking we would return soon. Instead, we have spent months living in a tent in Al-Mawasi of Khan Younis, enduring harsh winter conditions without proper clothing, blankets, or basic necessities. Living in a tent in this cold, with no access to essentials, is unimaginably difficult.

The war destroyed everything we had—our home, my father’s greenhouses (our only source of income), and even the garden that held so many happy memories. Our house is now rubble, and our once stable lives are filled with sadness and uncertainty. My siblings and I have lost not just our home, but also our schools and university, along with our hopes for the future.

Despite these hardships, I refuse to give up on my education and my dream of supporting my family. I am pursuing a degree in Computer Science online, but the challenges are overwhelming. I must walk 15 minutes just to access a weak internet connection, and printing study materials has become prohibitively expensive.

My siblings are also struggling to hold onto their dreams. My sister, who hoped to study architecture, can only learn online under the most difficult conditions—amid fear, shortages, and a lack of educational materials. The youngest twins dream of continuing their studies to build brighter futures, but even basic school supplies are out of reach.

In this time of unimaginable hardship, we need your support to survive and rebuild our lives.
