I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but after everything that’s happened, I’ve realised I need to ask for help.

My family and I have recently been through the devastating experience of a house fire that has left our home severely damaged and turned our lives upside down. The fire is believed to have been caused by the actions of neighbouring occupants and is currently under investigation. While the circumstances are still being investigated, the impact on my family has been truly heartbreaking.

The damage to our home is far worse than we ever imagined. We’ve already received a quote of £15,000 just to replace the roof, and that’s only the beginning. The entire upstairs has had to be stripped back to bare brick, and much of the house now needs to be rebuilt before it is safe for us to return.

We’ve lost furniture, clothing, beds, bedding, electrical appliances, children’s belongings, treasured possessions and countless sentimental items that can never be replaced. While material things can eventually be bought again, the memories we’ve lost are gone forever.

This house has always been much more than four walls. It’s where my children, grandchildren, family and friends have gathered over the years to celebrate birthdays, Christmases and special occasions, creating memories that we’ll always cherish. Seeing it in its current state has been one of the hardest experiences of my life. At times, it feels as though our whole world has been torn apart.

I’m not someone who finds it easy to ask for help, but the cost of rebuilding our home is simply overwhelming. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us begin putting our lives back together and will go towards:
