Our goats are a beloved part of our family, and caring for them has always brought us so much joy. Recently, we faced an unexpected disaster when a blizzard caused a tree to fall on their enclosure, destroying both the barn and the fencing that kept them safe. At the same time, I am recovering from septic shock and living with a neurodegenerative disease, which has made it impossible for me to work. My partner also lost their job so they could care for me during this difficult time. The combination of these challenges has left us struggling to provide for our animals and to rebuild what was lost.
Rebuilding the barn and repairing the fencing is not only expensive, but also requires more labor than we can manage on our own right now. We want to make sure that the new structures are strong enough to withstand future storms, and that our goats have a safe, warm place to live. This may mean hiring someone to help with construction and repairs, in addition to purchasing materials and supplies. Every dollar raised will go directly toward making sure our goats are protected and cared for, no matter what the weather brings.
We have been truly touched by the kindness and support of our community so far. Many people have reached out, asking how they can help, and we wanted to provide a direct way for anyone who wishes to contribute. Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing our story—will make a real difference in helping us rebuild and keep our animals safe and healthy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us during this challenging time.
