Help Us Rebuild Our Family's Home in Vietnam

Hello family, friends, strangers.

I'm Nicole, and I'm fundraising on behalf of my cousins and aunt in Vietnam.

On June 27th, there was a fire at their home. Our grandmother and uncle were burned alive.

There is nothing left of their home but ashes and debris. Years and years of life lived in their home and now all that's left is bare bricks, twisted metal and clinging soot. My family will never get to hear my grandma's accent again or bring little gifts to my uncle to see him smile.

My cousins Cún and Bi, and my aunt Vang lived there with my grandmother and uncle, and they have no place to return to. They have been forced to stay with friends and with neighbours, but this can only be a temporary solution.

It's scary to think how quickly lives can be lost and everything consumed in a blaze. There are fires in Alberta and all over Canada now, and yet this fire, thousands of kilometres from Calgary, feels so much closer to home for me. I work in news, but somehow you never think that your own family will be the one in the news articles.

I can't help them completely myself, no matter how much I want to. I need your help.
