Last night we lost the family home. The one we called Papa and Granny’s, the one I called Mom and Dad’s. The one we gathered in, the one I was raised in, the one the grandkids and great grandkids ran through. It was our safe haven, a home built on a Christian foundation. This week is a hard one for us anyway. This week marks 6 years without Dad. It’s speechless and unbelievable to literally stand and watch your childhood home burn to the ground. All the memories, all the things. The one thing we are all incredibly grateful and thankful for is Mom is still with us. She was awake and realized what was going on. Unfortunately, it’s a total loss. There is no insurance, there are only memories of what once stood. We are asking for prayers. Prayers and help to guide us through this next chapter of life. We know the Lord is in control. His plans are greater than ours. Dad’s favorite verse was For me and my house, we will serve the Lord. It hung over the door until tonight. It may not be there but the verse still stands firm. We will not and cannot allow satan any lead way. God giveth and taketh away, but he has a plan! As the house was burning, one of the grandkids took a picture of the wood on the A frame roof, it was a cross within the flames. The Lord was telling us, I have you all. If anyone could help it would be appreciated at this time. The only thing Mom has left is the clothes on her back.
We will rebuild, we will move forward. My mom is one of the strongest women I know. She gives everyday. She’s always helping anyone in need. If she has it, it’s yours. Now it’s time for us to give back. If you feel lead to, please know it will be handle to rebuild my mom’s life.
