Help Our Family Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa
Hello, my name is Shanike Watson-Hunt, and I live in Farm Town, Discovery Bay, St. Ann, with my husband and our three young children — ages 4, 3, and 4 months.
Our home was severely damaged by Hurricane Melissa, the catastrophic Category 5 storm that struck Jamaica. We lost our roof, windows, and doors, and our house was heavily flooded. The water destroyed almost everything inside ; furniture, beds, clothing, appliances, and our children’s school supplies.
This home is more than just a place we live.
It is the house I grew up in, the place filled with memories, love, and family history. Now, as we raise our own children here, losing it this way has been heartbreaking.
But we are determined to rebuild.
We are humbly asking for your support to help us repair and restore our home so our children can have a safe and stable place again. Your donations will go toward:
• Repairing and rebuilding the roof and ceiling
• Replacing doors and windows
• Fixing water-damaged rooms
• Replacing beds, sofa, and essential household items
• Getting clothing and school supplies for the children
No amount is too small — every single bit helps us take one step closer to having a safe home again.
Your kindness, prayers, shares, and donations mean more than we can express. Thank you for helping us find hope during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
