Kona Low Storm Rebuild After the Storm Damaged

Donation protected
My name is Sandrina Crowley, and I am married to Brian Crowley. I am a mother of six children and also care for my mother. We are a family of nine living together in Waialua, Hawaii. I was born and raised here on the plantation—and this is the home we have lived in all of our lives. This same home was severely damaged during the recent Kona Low storm, and our family is now facing immediate need and assistance.

The storm caused significant damage to our roof, and even more concerning, our foundation has shifted, leading to cracks throughout our walls and sections of the ceiling beginning to separate. Rain poured into our home through the ceilings, and now our roof and ceilings are covered in mold with a strong mildew smell. Mold has spread throughout our home, including our rugs, making our living environment unsafe.

We require immediate emergency assistance due to rapidly worsening and hazardous conditions in our home. Toxic mold is actively spreading throughout our ceilings, walls, and carpeted floors, creating a severe health risk for my family due to ongoing exposure and inhalation.

This situation is escalating quickly and demands urgent mold remediation, including immediate inspection and repair of the roof, ceilings, and interior walls to stop further contamination.

Additionally, our home’s foundation has significantly shifted, causing structural instability and raising serious concerns about the safety of the property. The house is becoming increasingly unsafe to occupy, with a real risk of further damage or potential collapse.

We are requesting immediate intervention to address both the toxic mold exposure and the compromised structural integrity of our home to ensure our safety.

After meeting with our insurance company and multiple contractors this week, the stress has only increased. We are facing a very high deductible, and the cost to repair the foundation and fully remove the mold is far beyond what we can afford.

Our health is already being affected. We are waking up with puffy eyes, congestion, and constant discomfort from mold exposure. My youngest child, who has a disability, is especially sensitive, and my oldest daughter is already experiencing allergic reactions. I have not been unable to work since the storm (March 20, 2026) as we try to clean up and make our home safe again.

We were also without electricity for three days, which resulted in the loss of all the food in our refrigerator and chest freezer—placing an additional financial burden on our family during this already difficult time.

We are doing everything we can, but we are struggling financially and are in need of immediate assistance.

We are asking for assistance to help cover:
• Insurance deductible
• Foundation repairs
• Mold cleanup and removal
• Replacing lost food
• Basic living expenses during this time

Anything helps—no amount is too small. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this message would mean so much to our family.

We are asking for your support to help make our home safe and livable again for our children.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
