My family and I are facing one of the hardest times of our lives. We were wrongly forced out of our home by property managers who wanted to remove all the old tenants. They used the courts to strip away our rent control protections and brought in powerful attorneys, making it impossible for tenants like us to fight back. We did everything we could to hold onto our home, but the odds were stacked against us, and we lost the place we called home for years.
Since August of 2025, we have been struggling to find stability. The sudden loss of our home has left us with urgent debts that are now preventing us from getting approved for a new place to live. We are a family of four, including our special needs daughter and young son, and every day is a challenge as we try to keep hope alive. Thankfully, we have never had to spend a night on the streets—we have managed to keep a motel roof over our kids’ heads each night. But now, it’s becoming harder and harder. The stress of everything has also drastically affected my health, making it even more difficult to keep moving forward. We have reached out to the county and applied for every form of assistance available, but we have been denied at every turn. Our savings are gone, and the few friends we have are also stretched thin and unable to help any further.
The funds raised will be applied to pay off debt and to cover our bare bones daily expenses for a room, food, and gas to commute over 40 miles to and from work using our one vehicle. I am terrified of not being able to secure a motel room for the kids or find a place to call home. We never imagined we would be in a position where we’d need to ask for help online, but we have no other options left. Any support you can give is not only deeply appreciated but truly crucial for our family. Your kindness could help us pay off the debts that are holding us back and finally secure a safe place to live. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering helping us during this difficult time.
