My husband and I have spent the last several years living full time in our 2011 28' Blue Bird School bus, which we lovingly converted into our home. As a retired business owner and a retired Army veteran, we found comfort and freedom in our unique lifestyle. Our lives took a sudden turn in 2025 when we received a call from our son and daughter-in-law in Red Bluff, California. Their landlord had decided to sell the house, leaving them and their four young children—one of whom has a pacemaker—without a place to live. We knew we had to help, so we drove our bus to pick them up and bring them to a piece of property we had purchased for our family.
On the way, the transmission in our bus failed, leaving us stranded. Our priority was to get our grandchildren and children to safety, so we continued on to the property, planning to return for our home. When we finally made it back, we were devastated to find that our bus had been stripped of its motor and transmission and set on fire. In an instant, we lost everything we owned and the home we had built together.
We are now seeking help to purchase another bus so we can begin to rebuild our lives. Any support, whether financial or through your prayers, means the world to us—especially in these challenging times. From our family to yours, may God bless you for your kindness and generosity.
