My husband, our toddler, and I were all asleep when a fire broke out in our home. We woke up to loud bangs and the sound of roaring flames, and in those terrifying moments, we rushed to our toddler’s room and grabbed him just seconds before his window shattered from the heat. We had no time to think as the fire poured in. We closed the door behind us and panicked, but somehow managed to escape with only the clothes we were wearing. Everything else—our son’s clothes, toys, diapers, and all of our belongings—was destroyed in the fire.

Thankfully, some neighbors have donated a few clothes to help us get by, but we are still in urgent need of essentials. Our most important goal right now is to get necessary items for our son and ourselves: clothes, socks, shoes, diapers, toiletries, and food. My husband and I are also without any clothes or basic necessities. The damage to our home is so severe that we cannot return, and we are now searching for a new place to stay while we try to rebuild our lives.

More than anything, I am absolutely appreciative of any help at this time. We are beyond devastated about losing our home, but we are so grateful for another day together as a family. Thank you for any prayers and support you can offer—they mean the absolute world to us.
